Cool Hand Luke

August 14 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

See One of the Best Anti-Heroes of the 1960s on August 14!

Paul Newman stars as Luke, a prisoner in a Florida prison camp who refuses to submit to the system. Following his arrest, Luke challenges the established pecking order of the chain gang and eventually runs afoul of the prisoner’s leader, Dragline, played by George Kennedy. While Luke eventually wins over his fellow prisoners, his struggles with the system and life continue, making him one of the best anti-heroes in film.

“Cool Hand Luke” received the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for Kennedy’s performance, and was nominated for three others, including Best Actor for Newman’s portrayal of Luke. It has a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and was inducted into the National Film Registry for its cultural, historical, or aesthetic significance in 2005.
